[en] In the present paper, innovative joint configurations leading to more economical
solutions for full-strength beam-to-column joints for seismic building frames are
detailed. The specificities of these joints are due to the fact that (i) the column is
made of high strength steel while the beam are made of mild carbon steel and (ii)
the design of some components allows partially neglecting the overstrength factor.
Also, methods for the characterisation of specific joint components not directly covered
by the Eurocode recommendations are proposed.
