Surfaces forestières; Wallonie; Comptage de points
Abstract :
[en] The total forest area of Walloonia (south part of Belgium) has been estimated by a dot grid method which consists in counting the number of dots that fall within the boundaries of the forests drawn on maps. All the concerned points were counted and their assignment have been checked on the field (grid of 1000 m x 500 m). According to this method 530.350 hectares should be covered by the forest.
