[en] In this article methods are shown to use software in the loop (SIL) and hardware in the loop (HIL) techniques in connection with the microscopic traffic flow simulation program PELOPS. With some application examples the use of these methods are depicted. In this context the ossibilities of such coupled simulation tools in development of driver assistance systems are presented. An outlook is given to future enhancements of the described HIL techniques to control for example test
benches or assess real vehicles in virtual traffic.
