[en] The new geological cartography campaign of the Walloon Region, which has begun in 1990, is mainly based on recent field data. Each map is published on 1:25,000 scale and is accompanied by a explanatory booklet where lithostratigraphy, tectonics, hydrogeology and mineral resources are described. These maps are very useful in every human activity involving the knowledge of the underground such as mining, management of dumpsites, civil engineering, etc.
