[en] Commercial dog food is more and more frequently used as sole diet. The present review characterizes the different types of commercial diets. Principles of bioenergetic allow the calculation of energy density using a prediction equation. Energy requirements are also calculated. Practical use of industrial dog food are illustrated for growing pups, dogs at maintenance or in reproduction.
