[en] The RFCS CONNECT4C project aims to support the circular economy in steel construction by developing adaptable connection systems. This study examines beam-to-column joints with long slotted holes, which allow for horizontal adjustments over time. Using finite element analyses, it explores the impact of geometrical parameters like plate thickness and beam section on joint classification and shear resistance. The research focuses on bearing-type failures in bolted connections, contributing to a better understanding of joint behavior. The findings promote structural flexibility, reuse, and reduced environmental impact in construction.
