[fr] Présentation de la Province de Liège au début des années 1950 au moment du début du mandat de Pierre Clerdent comme gouverneur de la province de Liège. Deux thèmes sont abordés : la grande diversité du territoire provincial et les forces et les faiblesses de l’économie. L’objectif de ce chapitre est ainsi de mieux comprendre le pourquoi de nombreux chois opérés par le Gouverneur à la fois pour valoriser les atouts des territoires et encore en réduire les faiblesses notamment en termes d’infrastructures et de développement économique et social. [en] Presentation of the Province of Liège at the beginning of the 1950s at the time of the beginning of Pierre Clerdent’s mandate as governor of the province of Liège. Two themes are addressed: the great diversity of the provincial territory and the strengths and weaknesses of the economy. The objective of this chapter is thus to better understand the reasons for many choices made by the Governor both to enhance the strengths of the territories and to reduce their weaknesses, particularly in terms of infrastructure and economic and social development.
