Abstract :
[en] The study of the Acheloos delta complex in external Patraikos Gulf, in Western Greece, through 3D seismic reflection data that captures the entire deltaic body constitutes an example of the evolution of a fluvial-dominated delta in a confined setting, affected by tectonic events followed by salt diapirism. Well data suggest Pleistocene age for the deltaic sequence, while the age determination of the main progradational packages is achieved through their correlation to Marine Isotope Stages (MIS), based on the assumption that the progradational units correspond to low sea-level stands. The inflection point of each deltaic sequence has been assessed assuming that it approximately corresponds to the shoreline trajectory. Several seismic attributes such as discontinuity, RMS amplitude and sweetness have been performed, for the visualization of the architectural elements of each seismic unit.
