[en] Physical exercise is effective in preventing diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases.
Running has become increasingly popular each year, and millions of people worldwide
run. Furthermore, in recent decades, long-distance endurance competitions have
become very popular. However, theoretically, excessively high levels of exercise can
lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular events.
The aim of my thesis was to study the “impact of intensive and extreme sport on
necrosis, stretch and fibrosis cardiac biomarkers”. To that end, it was important to
objectively compare and study the evolution of biomarkers in various exercises
including very short but intense isokinetic tests and different distance running races
since these types of exercise differ greatly in terms of intensity and time. First, we
studied subjects who participated in isokinetic tests, which are highly standardized and
of very high (but short-timed) intensity. Then, we studied subjects who participated in
different races: a 1 h race on a treadmill, semi- and full marathons, a 64 km ultratour,
and 105 km and 330 km ultra-mountain marathons. We assessed different biomarkers
of cardiomyocytes, muscular injury, stretch, inflammation, leucocyte activation, renal
function, oxidative stress, remodeling and cardiac fibrosis....
