Patients' perceptions of the mechanisms underlying alcohol use problems after bariatric surgery: a qualitative systematic review (protocol)

For more than a decade, a large body of research has indicated an increased rate of alcohol use disorder after bariatric surgery. This document is an a priori protocol written for conducting a qualitative systematic review regarding patients' perceptions of the processes leading to problematic alcohol use after bariatric surgery. The research question, the inclusion criteria and the procedures planned for carrying out the different stages of the review have been precisely described in this protocol.
