[en] Water requirements are determined according to the amounts of water stored in the tissues and lost by the animal. This review summarises estimates of water losses by faeces, urine, milk and by evaporation from the skin and respiratory tract. A description of the main pig drinkers is given with recommendations about the number, siting, fixing height and flow rate. Drinking water quality guidelines are also given.
