Informed Consent; Eyelid Surgery; Esthetic Surgery
Abstract :
[en] Before any esthetical intervention, it is the surgeon's responsibility to inform the patient (or its legal representative) during a consultation. Information should be given about the procedure : technique and circumstances, most serious potential risks, implants or products eventually injected, estimation of costs. A written information report, containing the text of article 18 should be dated and signed by the patient and by the surgeon at least 15 days before the intervention. This informed consent (IC) is part of the medical file. Specific written inform consent are being prepared by the Belgian society for ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery society (BSOPRS).
