Abstract :
[en] Magnetic materials are used in various engineering applications, including magnetic sensors. In particular, magnetoresistors (i.e. magnetic field dependent resistors) become increasingly popular. This talk will review the different materials used for magnetoresistors, their performances and applications in the world of magnetic sensors. The lecture will also include a description of Colossal magneto Resistive (CMR) materials [1,2] and discuss the influence of the material microstructure (grain size and grain boundaries) on the magnetic properties [3].
