Abstract :
[en] This work describes a centralized control for Multi-Terminal Direct Current (MTDC) grids. It is based on Model Predictive Control (MPC) whose aim is to satisfy a desired schedule, while avoiding or correcting any system limit violation. The central controller collects voltage and power measurements from the converters of the system in regular intervals and sends back converter power setpoints. The latter are calculated by solving a quadratic programming problem subject to linear constraints and using a simplified model for the DC system. In
addition, the overall MTDC grid control structure including the local and the centralized controllers is described.
