[en] This paper presents a linguistic description of the Barcelona Alcestis, an anonymous Latin poem contained in a fourth century papyrus codex. Traces of Vulgar Latin are identified in the orthography, which reveals the language as it was heard, understood and spoken by the copyist, whereas the syntactic features of the text can inform us about the language used by the author in the time of the composition.
