Il en résulte une (quasi-)absence de pénétration intracellulaire de cryoprotecteurs, le conditionnement reposant essentiellement sur une déshydratation. Le réchauffement est effectué lui aussi en une seule étape, sans nécessité de passer par des étapes d'équilibration dans des solutions hypertoniques. Cette méthode remet en cause les paradigmes de la vitrification, qui postulent la nécessité d'une équilibration progressive des milieux extra et intracellulaires préalables au refroidissement et durant le réchauffement, et où des cryoprotecteurs pénètrent dans la cellule. MT4-MMP (MMP-17) is a glycosylphosphatidyl inositol (GPI) anchored MMP produced by cancer cells that promotes tumor vascularization and metastases. The present invention found that MT4-MMP expression promotes cancer cell proliferation. These effects involve retinoblastoma protein (Rb) inactivation, cyclin dependent kinase CDK4 activation and Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (EGFR) signaling. Co-immuno-precipitations indicate the existence of protein complexes harboring MT4-MMP and EGFR. The present invention further found a novel mechanism of MT4-MMP action through an outside-in signaling involving EGFR. An unexpected crosstalk between an MMP and EGFR was identified and recognized as a key driver of cancer cell biology. [less ▲]

The invention concerns chitosan biomimetic scaffolds and methods for modulating their intrinsic properties such as rigidity, elasticity, resistance to mechanical stress, porosity, biodegradation and absorbance of exudates. Therefore, the present invention relates to a layered chitosan scaffold wherein said layered scaffold comprises at least two fused layers, wherein at least one of the fused layers comprises a chitosan nanofiber membrane and the other fused layer comprises a porous chitosan support layer. Moreover, the present invention provides a layered chitosan scaffold characterized by (i) a good adhesion between the porous and nanofiber layers, (ii) a tuneable porosity of the nanofiber layer by tuning the distance between the nanofibers, (iii) a stable nanofibers and porous morphology even when immersed in water or other solvents and a process for the preparation of such layered chitosan scaffold. Finally, the present invention provides the use of the layered electrospun chitosan scaffold of the invention or the layered electrospun chitosan scaffold produced by the process of the invention as a wound dressing, in tissue engineering or for biomedical applications. The invention relates to an organic transparent liquid composition comprising preformed polymeric chains having some photoactive groups per chain that can reversibly couple, being capable in this way to form a transparent solid polymer network with a shape that can be repeatedly and reversibly adjusted by at least local irradiation of the network with electromagnetic waves of different wave lengths whereby the liquid composition is cross-linked at at least one wave length L1 on the one hand and is liquid again by cleaving the cross-link nodes by irradiating the material at at least one other wavelength L2 on the other hand in order to repeatedly adjust the optical properties of said composition in its photo-cross linked state.
