This paper deals with the “Web 2.0”, where every user can contribute to the content, “harnessing collective intelligence”. After studying what makes the success of services like Google Base, Del.icio.us and the Open Directory Project, we propose a unifying “REST” protocol for this kind of community-driven organizations of knowledge. The aim is to make the collaboration possible beyond the boundaries of the software and of the resulting communities. [less ▲]

Networks of associated words are used in qualitative data analysis software such as Candide, Réseau-Lu T-Lab on one side and Prospéro on the other side. The precise algorithm of both Candide and Prospéro is described. Strength and limits of such a feature are compared with the gain it provides to social scientists. The paper concludes on a procedure helping to judge the adequacy and accuracy of categories of analysis constructed by the researcher. [less ▲]

This article presents the problems lived by a team of indexers organized in network that coordinates its activities by using discussion forum. The author aim to follow the coding problem solving that occurs in this project. The ongoing achievement of indexation raises up the question of the social, cognitive, political and quantitative representation and leads actors to compose associations’ networks (between sources of information, keywords, databases and indexers). The willing to collaborate and to communicate constraints them to coordinate and find agreement; discussions show the diverse and unstable forms of agreement processes. [less ▲]
