The current stage of the project is to evaluate the thermal management of a single house with, at the present time, 45 MW.h (thermal 25 MW.h, electrical 20 MW.h) annual consumptions. The changes needed from a classical gas boiler heating of 20 kW to a 6 kW (thermal) plus 5 kW (electrical) system will be studied and detailed. Evaluation of CO2 reduction in the two systems will be presented considering the Belgium mix of electricity production. The heat and electricity local storage to cover peak demand in both energy demands will be discussed in relation with a grid-connected fuel cell. In particular the detailed analysis of this home demand will be analysed for the last three years. An original thermal circuit will be proposed, including its regulation. The experimental result of the behaviour of our proposal during 2003-2004 winter will be presented using a “virtual” SOFC (actually replaced by “equivalent” 6 kWth boiler) which is intended to be used in the same environment after this testing period. Constrains related to SOFC typical behaviour will be taken into account in our proposal for regulation. This research is a replication of a research done in the same schools – but one – in 1990 by one of us. However, several questions were added to the 2007 questionnaire in order to apprehend the new dimensions that we developed over the last 17 years. The results which are presented here are only preliminary; further analyses are being undertaken. More sophisticated statistical methods are used to explore the two databases. En février et mars derniers, nous avons effectué une enquête auprès de 1437 jeunes dans diverses classes de Liège. Cette enquête reprenait le protocole d’une première enquête réalisée dans les mêmes écoles — à une exception près — en décembre 1990. Le question¬naire de 2007 a seulement été modifié pour tenir compte de l’expérience de 1990 et ajouter d’autres dimensions que nous avons développées au cours de ces 17 années de recher¬che sur les jeunes et leur intérêt politique. Nous espérons que les quelques résultats que nous sommes heureux de vous communiquer, de même que les comparaisons avec les résultats de 1990, sauront vous intéresser. Il ne s’agit encore, cependant, que de résultats préliminaires et nous comptons exploiter beaucoup plus largement ces deux riches banques de données — plus de 250 questions en 1990, 150 en 2007 — au cours des prochains mois. Ce volume s’intègre dans la longue polémique autour de la casuistique et du probabilisme. Il défend vigoureusement la position des rigoristes, en parfait accord avec l’argumentation pascalienne et port-royaliste. Mais le but que poursuit Gerberon dans son ouvrage n’est pas de rédiger un abrégé de morale pratique. L’auteur entend plutôt analyser de manière critique les différents principes, critères et moyens par lesquels les individus parviennent à la connaissance et à l’application des principes de morale. Gerberon met en évidence le rôle central de la conscience dans ce processus et s’attache à en détailler les tenants et les aboutissants. Au cours de son exposé, qui constitue un plaidoyer pour les droits de la conscience, il s’appuye sur les analyses thomistes classiques, mais en les rappelant dans un contexte polémique au sein d’un siècle absolutiste, il développe un discours audacieux, dont le caractère individualiste résonne d’accents port-royalistes. Quiescent cells separated from activated cells by Percoll-gradient centrifugation bear fewer receptors than activated ones. Activated T cells express hGH-N-R, but the typical germinal centre CD4+ CD57+ T cells do not. These latter thus appear not to be fully activated. Inside the lymph follicles, the germinal centre CD38+ B-cell population and the mantle-zone CD39+ B-cell population display similar levels of hGH-N-R expression, but receptor density is lower on dividing dark-zone CD38+ CD10+ B cells. Different lymphoid-cell populations thus differ markedly in their ability to express the growth hormone receptor, in relation notably to their activation status. Excitations into unoccupied orbitals with valence and Rydberg character as well as into the corresponding K- and L-continua are compared with the isolated and condensed species. Core level excitation of clusters is also accompagned with extensive fragmentation of singly and doubly charged clusters. Coincidence techniques such as photoelectron-photoion-coincidences (PEPICO) and photoion-photoion-coincidence (PIPICO) are used to study the photochemical fragmentation pathways of core excited clusters. Kinetic energy releases related to charge separation of cluster dications (Coulomb explosion) are derived from PIPICO spectra. The fragmentation energetics is discussed in relation to cluster dication threshold energies. Methods: The phantom image was acquired with the collimator and the acquisition parameters used in clinical practice. Contrast for the 12 mm hot (H12) and for the 9 and 12 mm cold (C9, C12) nodules was measured, as well as sensitivity (S in cp/MBq/s). Results: Measured minimum-maximum values were as follows. Pinhole cameras (6): S = 62-131; H12 = 0.66-0.77; C12 = 0.77-0.90; C9 = 0.59-0.76. Non-pinhole cameras (4): S = 55-85; H12 = 0.52-0.59; C12 = 0.62-0.75; C9 = 0.30-50. Conclusions: The pinhole collimators outclass the parallel hole ones in contrast. The sensitivity was the highest (S > 96) for five of the six pinhole collimators. As a direct consequence of this study, two centres decided to switch to pinhole collimator for thyroid scintigraphy. Alasbimn Journal, 32 (2006-04)

These tensions create a situation of uncertainty, that is to say, of choices between pathways. They are both a springboard for action and the cause of inaction, depending on how they are interpreted. That is why, in the calculation of the wind-induced movement of the overhead transmission line during hurricane, it is important to represent the cable aerodynamic drag as Reynolds-dependent. In order to assess the behaviour and fatigue resistance of the transmission line conductor under hurricane conditions, the Reynolds-dependent drag coefficient was introduced in the SAMCEF Mecano finite-element software. To represent the hurricane wind loading, the turbulent, spatially non-uniform wind model was used. One of the technical research modules is focussing on the geometrical aspects of VHR data processing. The geometric precision of VHR data (QuickBird, IKONOS) is systematically evaluated, more specific for an urban and suburban environment using the GCP information obtained by GPS measurements. The 2D-georeferenced images is compared with ortho-rectified images in terms of their geometric accuracy. This will provide useful information about the limitations of 2Dcorrected data, and the necessity of acquiring ortho-rectified data, for different kinds of applications in each of the studied areas. The oblique viewing angle of images produced by VHR sensors like IKONOS and QuickBird has a strong influence on the geometrical displacement of objects, and on the occurrence of hidden areas in the image. The degree of displacement and the percentage of hidden areas are determined by the interaction between viewing angle, position of the sun, object height, and terrain characteristics (slope, aspect). In other words, the range of viewing angles that can be considered acceptable for purchasing an image of a certain area will depend on the morphological characteristics of the area. To study the interaction between all parameters involved, a theoretical model is implemented. First, the model is used to systematically study the impact of viewing angle on object displacement, shadow length and size of hidden areas in an image, by simultaneously varying the different morphological parameters. Next, the impact of viewing angle on the geometry of the image is simulated using the theoretical model and a DSM from aerial photography. The geometrical accuracy of a DSM from VHR data is compared with the accuracy of the DSM, derived from aerial photography at scales of 1:12000 and 1:4000). The satellite-derived DSM is used for ortho-rectification of VHR imagery. The accuracy of the ortho-rectified images is compared with ortho-rectifications of the same images, based on the aerial photo DSM. This study frames in the preliminary studies to investigate the possibilities of these types of data. In this framework experimental flights were organised by VITO (Flemish Institute for Technological Research) and OSTC (Federal Office for Scientific, Technical and Cultural Affairs) on 13th of September 2002 with a Dornier 228 aircraft carrying the CASI/SWIR sensor, over different test sites in Belgium. The flights were done by NERC and VITO and framed in the STEREO-program of OSTC. This paper deals with the “Ghent test site” over a peri-urban area, and focuses on the 3D-geometry of these data. These hyperspectral data are characterised by relief-displacement and differences in relief. These displacements occur in a direction away from the centre of the image. For remotely sensed images this is the direction away from the flight-line. In the monoscopic analysis of such images, these displacements will disturb the interpretation, the classification and the mapping of the image information. These distortions can be compensated for with a DEM. Very often this DEM has to come from an external data source such as laser scanning or aerial photography. However, when hyperspectral data is taken stereoscopically, it is possible to derive a DEM from these stereoscopic hyperspectral images, and so avoiding the cost to purchase an external DEM. To obtain stereoscopic imagery, two images were taken with an overlap of 80% in the so called “metrical mode” i.e. with a high spatial resolution (0.5m) and a lower spectral resolution. A third image was taken in “spectral mode”, for interpretation issues. A DEM and orthophoto were generated from the hyperspectral data by means of digital photogrammetry. A number of Ground Control Points were collected for absolute orientation, by means of DGPS. The geometric precision of the DEM and orthophoto derived from these data are evaluated using DEM and orthophoto derived from aerial pictures on different scales. Though it is possible to obtain a DSM from two images with a different viewing angle on the same area, it is preferred to work with products ordered as stereo. Such stereo pairs have images that are made in the same orbital pass, resulting in a much better geometry of the stereo model. In this paper the accuracy of an IKONOS derived DSM of urban areas is assessed, based on DSMs from aerial photography and laser scanning. The quality and accuracy of a DSM derived from IKONOS stereo pairs has been assessed for test zones in two cities, Ghent and Liege. The test zones are characterized by a typical urban morphology (city center, residential, industry). The accuracy has been assessed for each of the different types of urban morphology in the study areas. An error surface is obtained by calculating the difference between the generated IKONOS surface models and reference surface models. This surface is used as a measure for the accuracy of the IKONOS surface model. Reference surface models from different origins are used (aerial photography, lidar, large scale 3D database). For the test zones in Liege, the relation between the DSM accuracy and different land cover types is studied in detail. Also the relation between DSM error and the topography will be investigated. An IKONOS stereo pair consists of two images of the same location taken from two different perspectives on the same orbital pass. Although it is possible to obtain a stereopair from two images from different orbital passes and with a large time interval, it is proved that the stereopairs ordered from Spaceimaging or resellers gives better results (2004, Taillieu et al.). This paper describes the method applied for DSM generation from an IKONOS stereopair, over an urban area. The geometrical accuracy of the DSM is compared with the accuracy of a DSM, derived from aerial photography at scales of 1:12000 and 1:4000. This project is presently financed by the Belgian federal Office for Scientific, Technical and Cultural affairs (OSTC). The core of the cities is represented by satellite maps at 1: 5 000 scale. Ikonos panchromatic and multispectral images are merged together in order to obtain coloured images at 1 m resolution able to render the urban fabric of these old cities. Moreover small excerpts at enlarged scale (1: 3 000) show typical places and building in panchromatic mode. The excerpt selected on the famous Brussels “Grand Place” is used to illustrate the fusion process between the panchromatic (1 m) and the multispectral (4 m) images. Two small scale insets present the regional context of these three towns thanks to a natural colour composite made of Landsat 7 ETM+ images on the one hand, and a classical physical map on the other hand. The author focuses the paper on both the "ordinary" and "extraordinary" processions of the post-Tridentine liturgy. Following a reminder about what a procession is and brief comments about the ceremonial and disciplinary rules laid down by Rome and the diocesan authorities, she envisions these processions as multi-sensory phenomena of which she underlines the dimension of sound. Finally, she shows how this over-stimulation of the senses allowed the faithful to lose themselves in God. Au cours des décennies qui suivent le concile de Trente, le catholicisme réformé connaît, particulièrement dans les régions marquées par une culture baroque, des formes d’expression exacerbées. Le cérémonial religieux atteint alors un apparat remarquable de solennité. L’auteur concentre ici son propos sur les processions « ordinaires » et « extraordinaires » de la liturgie post-tridentine. Après le rappel de ce qu’est une procession et un bref commentaire sur les règlementations cérémonielles et disciplinaires imposées par Rome et les autorités diocésaines, l’A. envisage les processions comme des phénomènes poly-sensoriels dont elle souligne principalement la dimension sonore. Elle montre enfin comment cette sur-stimulation des sens doit permettre aux fidèles de s’abîmer en Dieu. Durante i decenni che seguono il concilio di Trento, il cattolicesimo riformato conosce, particolarmente nelle zone segnate dalla cultura barocca, delle forme d’espressione esacerbate. Il cerimoniale religioso raggiunge un apparato solenne notevole. L’autrice concentra il suo testo sulle processioni “ordinarie” e “straordinarie” della liturgia post-tridentina. Dopo il rammentare di quello è una processione e un commentario breve sulle regolamentazioni cerimoniali e disciplinari imposte da Roma e le autorità episcopali, prende in considerazione le processioni come fenomeni multisensoriali di cui sottolinea principalmente la dimensione sonora. Mostra alla fine come questa sovrastimolazione dei sensi deve permettere ai fedeli di sprofondare in Dio.
