In many models, stability of dark matter particles is protected by a conserved Z_2 quantum number. However dark matter can be stabilized by other discrete symmetry groups, and examples of such models with custom-tailored field content have been proposed. Here we show that electroweak symmetry breaking models with N Higgs doublets can readily accommodate scalar dark matter candidates stabilized by groups Z_p with any $p \le 2^{N-1}$, leading to a variety of kinds of microscopic dynamics in the dark sector. We give examples in which semi-annihilation or multiple semi-annihilation processes are allowed or forbidden, which can be especially interesting in the case of asymmetric dark matter. [less ▲]

The Zadko telescope is a 1 m f/4 Cassegrain telescope, situated in the state of Western Australia about 80-km north of Perth. The facility plays a niche role in Australian astronomy, as it is the only meter class facility in Australia dedicated to automated follow-up imaging of alerts or triggers received from different external instruments/detectors spanning the entire electromagnetic spectrum. Furthermore, the location of the facility at a longitude not covered by other meter class facilities provides an important resource for time critical projects. This paper reviews the status of the Zadko facility and science projects since it began robotic operations in March 2010. We report on major upgrades to the infrastructure and equipment (2012–2014) that has resulted in significantly improved robotic operations. Second, we review the core science projects, which include automated rapid follow-up of gamma ray burst (GRB) optical afterglows, imaging of neutrino counterpart candidates from the ANTARES neutrino observatory, photometry of rare (Barbarian) asteroids, supernovae searches in nearby galaxies. Finally, we discuss participation in newly commencing international projects, including the optical follow-up of gravitational wave (GW) candidates from the United States and European GW observatory network and present first tests for very low latency follow-up of fast radio bursts. In the context of these projects, we outline plans for a future upgrade that will optimise the facility for alert triggered imaging from the radio, optical, high-energy, neutrino, and GW bands. Real-time ultrasonography is an essential diagnostic tool in the bovine reproductive tract examination. It is a simple, reliably and non invasive imaging technique that provides information beyond transrectal palpation of the ovarian and the non pregnant as well as the pregnant uterus. The ultrasound examination admits of estimation the normal structures, anomalies and homodynamic changes in reproductive organs and the embryo and fetus development. To obtain a good quality and detailed images of the reproductive tract is preferred a 5.0 to 7.5 MHz probes. This paper has focused the principles of ultrasound imaging use in a cow’s theriogenology. Parallel and distributed algorithms have become a necessity in modern machine learning tasks. In this work, we focus on parallel asynchronous gradient descent and propose a zealous variant that minimizes the idle time of processors to achieve a substantial speedup. We then experimentally study this algorithm in the context of training a restricted Boltzmann machine on a large collaborative filtering task. [less ▲]
